Cardamom Brown Sugar Latte

I wanted something a little more exciting in my coffee this morning other than my usual milk, so I decided to make a cardamom brown sugar latte. I love cardamom and will find any excuse to use it. I remember my mom telling me that one of the best cups of coffee she ever had was made with cardamom. I had to try it myself, and I am so glad I did! While a traditional latte is made with espresso, this works just as well when added to a cup of coffee.
Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 heaping tablespoon dark brown sugar, plus more if you want it sweeter
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more to garnish
- Espresso or coffee
Directions:
Place the milk, brown sugar, cardamom and cinnamon in a small pot and warm on the stove over medium-low heat, whisking until frothy.
Not in the mood to turn on the stove? Heat the milk in the microwave for 1 minute in a glass jar (lid removed, obviously…unless you like fireworks!) Then add the brown sugar and spices, screw the lid on tight and shake until frothy.
Pour the sweet, spiced, frothy milk into your coffee or espresso, garnish with a pinch of cinnamon and enjoy!
Oh my! This sounds delicious! I’m making this tomorrow! It will bring back memories of the coffee I used to have with Cardamon!!
It’s such a nice treat! I highly recommend it!
Good morning Courtney,
I am enjoying your cardamom brown sugar latte at this very moment! It is quite delicious and the next time I have a tea party with my granddaughters, I will mix this latte .
Thanks for the recipe!
Judy
This warms my heart! I’m glad you’re enjoying the cardamom latte. The cardamom brown sugar milk would be good in tea too…although I prefer champagne at tea parties!!
Court,
I might try champagne at my next tea party and I just won’t tell the girls parents!
