Gin Gimlet

Gin Gimlet

I love a good gin gimlet. It’s a classic cocktail that happens to be a favorite of mine. It’s tart and refreshing and tastes best in a chilled vintage coupe glass…it feels more glamorous that way. I’ve tried this with a few different brands of gin, but I find that Bombay Sapphire is the best one for this specific drink.

(makes 2 servings)

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz gin
  • 2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1-1 1/2 oz simple syrup (depending on how sweet you want it… directions below)
  • A handful of ice

Instructions:

Chill 2 glasses in the freezer for at least a half an hour. Measure ingredients and add to a cocktail shaker (this one is so pretty) with ice. Shake until cold and frothy, serve in chilled martini or coupe glasses with a lime wheel.

Simple Syrup recipe:

Measure equal parts water and sugar, place in a small sauce pan and bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook until the sugar dissolves. I usually make 1 cup at a time and store it in the refrigerator so that it’s always ready for cocktail hour!
