Claudette’s Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Claudette loves treats almost as much as I do! So it was no surprise that she fell in love with these peanut butter oatmeal cookies. I had the pleasure of making a batch with her on her birthday. Claudette’s peanut butter dog treats are easy to make and very healthy. Make them for your furry friend today and they’ll love you forever!

Ingredients:
- 3 cups oats
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 cup pumpkin
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp coconut oil melted
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375F
In a food processor or blender, blend oats into a powder.
Whisk the cinnamon, turmeric and baking powder into the oat flour.
In a separate bowl, whisk the pumpkin, peanut butter and eggs together.
Mix the wet and dry ingredients together until a ball forms.
Fold in the melted coconut oil.
On a floured surface, roll the dough out about 1/2 inch thick.
Cut using cookie cutter of choice. Claudette prefers dog bones.
Place cookies on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden on the bottoms.
Cool completely and store in an airtight container.
Once baked, these cookies freeze really well. This recipe makes about 3 dozen cookies, depending on the size. So I place them in an airtight container in the freezer and remove them one at a time as needed…which is often if Claudette has a say! They thaw right away.

Claudette’s a doggone lucky girl!!
